Choosing accounts software PDF Print E-mail

Book-keeping solutions

There are paper systems and software packages, notably Sage and Quickbooks, which enable you to do your book keeping and day to day accounts to as high a standard as you like. The good news is that for many one man bands and straightforward businesses a spreadsheet is perfectly OK. You can use MS Works or Excel or the Open Office which is just as good and free to download.

At Discountants, we can read Sage or Quickbooks data and any spreadsheet format. We are also familar with MYOB. A computer based solution is always better because it is easy to correct, there will be less errors anyway and any paper data may well end up being required on a computer as part of your year end anyway, no matter which accountant you choose.

Training...

If you are new to accounts software, we can train you or your staff at your premises or at our offices. It is often best to train away from the workplace, free from interruption or distraction and where there is no chance that inexperienced staff can damage live data! We would always aim to teach on a one to one basis or in very small groups where there was plenty of opportunity for hands on practice before anybody gets let loose on your live accounts.

 Online book-keeping

 ...is coming in January 2011!

Instead of buying accounts software at the big retailers, with all the installation 'will it do something odd to the rest of my PC' nonsense, back-up requirements and security worry if your laptop gets stolen, just logon and do it with our Twinfield online account, like 100,000 other business across Europe. That way, whatever you enter, we can see straight away! This means we can answer queries there and then on the phone and we can also monitor that you are doing things the right way. Alternatively, just ask about our book-keeping and payroll services, available at very reasonable rates.
