Accounts and year end
Our bread and butter of course, making sure you get your business accounts and your tax returns right and filed on time. Every clients needs are different and you can be sure you will be treated as an individual.
At our introductory meeting with a new client, or as the year progresses, we will make sure that you are on target to provide the right information for the year end so that we can process it efficiently and therefore at a good price. This is especially so if you are a start-up business.
We provide a comprehensive service, from which you can take as little or as much as you want. Normally for the self employed it will be your business accounts to the standard required for the self-employment pages on the tax return, then it will be the tax return itself. For companies the accounts for corporation tax will be done plus the tax returns for the directors and any other key personnel you require. Any personal, property or investment issues are also properly accounted for on your tax returns.
Two types of accounting
We distinguish two clear types of accounting....
- That which you must do to comply with tax law.
- Management accounting that is designed to provide information to help you make decisions about your business.
To be frank the management information for many one man or very small businesses is completely inside the head of its owner and happily so. For these businesses we won't waste clients money on year end nominal ledgers or management information that would prove little more than a curiosity to the business owner.
We will, of course respond to any request for management accounting where a need for information presents itself. We will also offer suggestions as to what information might be useful or what accounting issues are worthy of note, based on our experience of how the health of businesses generally shows up in accounts information. We regard this as part of our professional commitment to the health of clients businesses.
